Legislator Maisano called the meeting to order at 4:45 p.m.

 

The Chair informed the committee that the item for discussion was the boundary line for the Saw Mill Sanitary Sewer District in Ossining.  He requested Commissioner Landi to address the committee.

 

Commissioner Landi stated that on January 10th, he received a resolution from the Village of Briarcliff Manor, Board of Trustees requesting authorization to change the sewer districts.  He stated that the Department of Health and Planning are also involved.

 

Ms. D’Agrosa, Ms. Doyle and Mr. Sakala representing the Departments of Health and Planning stated that they have reviewed the resolution and are in support.

 

Legislator Maisano requested Legislator Wishnie to address the committee.

 

Legislator Wishnie stated that he had spoken to all parties involved and has received positive reports.  He made a motion to sign out the legislation.  Seconded by Legislator Pinto.  All in favor 8-0.

Legislator Maisano thanked the members of the Departments of Planning and Health.

 

Commissioner Landi responded to questions from the committee on the Briarcliff property, status of storage facility SSO, 666 Pelham Road.

 

The Chair stated that the County originally selected 666 Pelham Road.  He also stated that everyone, including the County, wanted an alternate location.  The State does not allow pumps.  Neptune Park requires a pump.  The City, County and people would like to have it there.  The City of New Rochelle prepared a Resolution requesting the State to allow it there with a pump.  The County has forwarded their request to the State for a decision.

 

Legislator Pinto stated that there have been a lot of accidents on the Cross County Parkway, Eastchester section.  He also stated that the lights are inactive, there is a very bad curve and at noght the road does not lend itself to “easy driving”.  He requested the Commissioner to look into the situation, and informed the Commissioner that this is item 24 on the Agenda.

 

The Commissioner stated that he would forward a copy to Mr. Dennison, Regional Director at DOT.

 

The Chair thanked Commissioner Landi for his presentation.

Legislator Pinto moved the minutes of April 11, 2000 with two additions.  Seconded by Legislator Wishnie.  All in favor 5-0.
