COMMITTEE ON PUBLIC WORKS

TUESDAY, MAY 18, 1999

PRESENT:  Chair:  Pinto.  Members:  Maisano, Noto, and Ryan.  Staff:  Bass, Vita.

 

ALSO PRESENT:  William Randolph, County Executive’s office; Robert Abbamont, Public Works Department.

 

 

Mr. Pinto opened the meeting at 4:35 p.m.

 

On the motion of Legislator Maisano, seconded by Legislator Noto, the minutes of March 9th and April 13th were approved as amended by a vote of 4-0.

 

AGENDA REFERRALS

Item #7:  Saw Mill River Debris.  The debris has been cleaned and removed.  On the motion of Legislator Maisano, seconded by Legislator Noto, the item is received and filed by a vote of 4-0.

 

Item #8:  Bronx River Restoration letter to the Editor.  On the motion of Legislator Noto, seconded by Legislator Ryan, the item is received and filed by a vote of 4-0.

 

Item #9:  Resident support for the removal of properties in the Ossining Sanitary Sewer District Modification. On the motion of Legislator Noto, seconded by Legislator Ryan, the item is received and filed by a vote of 4-0.

 

RIDGE STREET PARK

Mr. Pinto reported that Field A is under construction and mentioned the questions and concern about the trees in the center of the field.  He said they were dead trees and will ask the Parks Department to remove them so as not to hinder the prospect of a ball field.

CENTERAL AVENUE CONSTRUCTION

The County had a meeting with the residents and merchants of the areas to inform them about the details of the project.  Construction will start late May in conjunction with New York State Department of Transportation’s construction project in the same area.

 

SEWER CONSOLIDATION DISTRICT

The sub-committee held its first meeting on Monday, May 17th, reporting they are moving forward with informational meetings throughout the County and noted that the League of Women Voters will host a public forum on Monday, June 21st at 3 p.m., at the White Plains Library.  Co-Chair Noto said he would host a community outreach meeting in the Village of Port Chester late June.

 

 

With no other business to discuss, the meeting adjourded at 4:50 p.m.
