DISCUSSION:
The meeting was called to order at 3:05 p.m., by Chair Pinto, who also introduced the committee members and guests. The discussion began with the topic of unleashed dogs at Scout Field. Chair read correspondence which was referred to the Board Agenda for the meeting of December 11th, (PRC item #32). The original correspondence was written by Johathan M. Forester, a Bronxville resident – with the complaint that he was attacked and bitten by an unleashed dog while entering Scout Field parking lot on a motorcycle. Chair Pinto emphasized a need to take steps to control unleashed dogs, as well as to uphold the law. He also requested that an open dialogue ensue, to continue this discussion. Ms. Brennan clarified that the dog did not viciously attack Mr. Forester, but was acting in the defense of its owner’s children. Chair Pinto questioned how serious is this problem and, if a resolution should be considered to correct the situation of dogs being leashed in the park, or an alternative to a “dog park”. He then opened the discussion for suggestions.
