COMMITTEE ON COUNTY OFFICERS AND DEPARTMENTS

MINUTES, MONDAY, OCTOBER 16, 2002 4:00 PM

LEGISLATORS:  Chair, Swanson, Pinto, LaMotte

Chair Swanson called the meeting to order at 4:06 pm

Transportation Board

Mr. Richard Streicher, attended meetings and signed oath.  He is an attorney and is presently employed at Tokyo Stock Exchange and also at Loeb & Loeb.  He was Chairman at the Scarsdale Town and Village Civic Club.

On motion of Mr. Pinto, seconded by Mrs. Lamotte, Mr. Streicher was appointed to the Transportation Board.

Women’s Advisory Board

Barbara has not attended any meetings.  She did sign oath book.  She works for WCC.  She is skilled in program development, managing change and problem solving.  She is administratively strong, skilled in human relations and communication, teaching and training, research and data analysis.

On motion of Mr. Pinto, seconded by Mrs. LaMotte, Mrs. Wood was appointed to the Women’s Advisory Board.

Soil & Water Conservation Advisory Board

Paul Marraffino’s career involved developing electrical components and systems for the electronics industry.  He is very educated in the environment.  He has a strong interest in supporting the preservation and restoration of the quality of Westchester County environment and welcomes an opportunity to support the Soil & Water Conservation Advisory Board.  He owned a 500 acre Dairy Farm for 29 years.

On motion by Mr. Pinto, seconded by Mrs. LaMotte, Mr. Marraffino was appointed to the Soil and Water Conservation Board. Vote 3-0

Westchester County Emergency Medical Services Advisory Board

David Parsons has not attended any meetings.  We have tried several times to contact him, but he cannot be reached.  Committee would like to turn down his reappointment because he has not attended any meetings. 

On motion to return with letter, committee recommends not to reappoint and would like to open slot for volunteers.

On motion of Mr. Pinto, seconded by Mrs. Lamotte, this will be returned to County Executive’s office.

On motion by Mr. Pinto, seconded by Mrs. LaMotte, all minutes were approved.  Vote 3-0.
