COMMITTEE ON COUNTY OFFICERS & DEPARTMENTS
E.M.S. Advisory Board:
Theodore Tully, Jr.: Is a resident of Mahopac and has been appointed to the EMS Advisory Board for the term January 1, 2001 through December 31, 2002. He has an extensive background of EMS service for the past 20 years. He has been with the Westchester County Health Care Corp. from 1996 as Director of Trauma and Emergency Services. He has attended 3 meetings of the Advisory Board. There is a lot of energy generated by the members of the Board. There are lots of concerns with issues that have been around the County for a long time. He was asked about the Fly Car and if it was effective. The citizens of Somers at first didnt think they needed it but they were convinced that they do. In order to be effective, it has to respond in 10 minutes. Northern Putnam does not have a trauma center but Danbury has. Communities have trouble getting ambulances out because of lack of volunteers. Legislator Oros added that Mr. Tully is an integral part of the EMS Committee. On the motion of Legislator Swanson, seconded by Legislator Stewart-Cousins, the appointment was approved by a 7-0 vote.
Roland Faucher: Is a resident of Shrub Oak and has been appointed to the EMS Advisory Board for the term January 1, 2001 through December 31, 2003. He has been very involved with EMS. He will be attending the4th meeting of the Advisory Board tomorrow. He has always been interested in medicine. Because his children are healthy, he wants to repay his good fortune. He has been involved with Cortlandt, Yorktown, Verplank and Mohegan EMS. The national goal is 10 minutes and he wants the same for our district. 60 Control doesnt dispatch for Mohegan. The police receive the call and then dispatch it to the fire department. On the motion of Legislator Oros, seconded by Legislator Pinto, the appointment was approved by a 7-0 vote.
Paul Scoca: Is a resident of Hawthorne and has been appointed to the EMS Advisory Board for the term January 1, 2001 through December 31, 2003. He has worked for Empress Ambulance and Transcare Emergency Medical and is now presently employed in the real estate field.
