COMMITTEE ON COUNTY OFFICERS & DEPARTMENTS

WEDNESDAY, FEBRUARY 14, 2001

4:00 P.M.

 

 

PRESENT:  Chair:  LaMotte.  Members:  Young, Pinto, and Oros.

 

ALSO PRESENT:  William Randolph, Larry Schwartz.

 

Mrs. LaMotte called the meeting to order at 4:04 p.m.

 

WOMEN’S ADVISORY BOARD APPOINTMENTS:

ITEM #A8:  Patricia D. McDow:   Was appointed by the County Executive as a District 16 representative to the Women’s Advisory Board.  She is filling the expired term of Olga Luz Tirado, which ends December 31, 2001.  She has signed the oath of office and has attended several meetings.  She is currently working on a project and said that the Board has a large turn out each month.   She is in business for herself, doing printing and web site design.  On the motion of Legislator Pinto, seconded by Legislator Young, theappointment was approved by a 4-0 vote.

 

ITEM #A17:  Nell C. Taylor:  Was appointed as an at-large member of the Women’s Advisory Board.  She is filling the expired term of Katherine Canaday, which ends December 31, 2001.  She has signed the oath of office, has attended several meetings and feels it is a wonderful Board.  She decided to join the Board because she felt it was the appropriate thing to do.  On the motion of Legislator Pinto, seconded by Legislator Oros, the appointment was approved by a 4-0 vote.

 

ITEM #A12:  Donna Ellen Hunman:   Was appointed as an at-large member of the Women’s Advisory Board.  She will be filling the seat vacated by Sheryl K. Lord, which expires December 31, 2001.  She likes being involved in the community and on the Advisory Board she is working on scholarships.  She is also interested in Native American issues.  On the motion of Legislator Pinto and seconded by Legislator Young, the appointment was approved by a 4-0 vote.

COUNTY ATTORNEY APPOINTMENT:

ITEM #C2:  Charlene Indelicato:  Was appointed County Attorney by the County Executive, effective February 5, 2001.  She is thrilled to be working for the County.  She stated that every municipal lawyer’s dream is to become County Attorney.  She believes in having one attorney serve the County Executive and the Board of Legislators.  She is able to work for Democrats and Republicans.  Legislator LaMotte mentioned that she is concerned about Merstead but would discuss it at a later date.  On the motion of Legislator Oros, seconded by Legislator Young, the appointment of County Attorney Indelicato was approved by a 4-0 vote.

 

 

There will be no meeting next week, the next scheduled meeting will be Monday, February 26th at 4p.m. 

 

 

 

With no further business to discuss, the meeting was adjourned at 5 p.m. by motion of Legislator Pinto and seconded by Legislator Oros.
