The meeting was called to order at 4:00 pm.

 

WCHCC BOARD OF DIRECTORS (Reappointments)

Jo Brill

Jo Brill is presently a member of the WCHCC Board of Directors.  Ms. Brill has only missed one meeting.  She believes the board is a well functioning board and feels the members work well together.  Ms. Brill feels it has developed into a very effective board with a strong committee system and shared decision making.  She feels this board is an exciting one and is proud to be a member.

 

The Committee and Ms. Brill discussed various issues regarding the Medical Center such as the parking garage and employees.

 

The Committee had a brief discussion on the structure of the WCHCC Board of Directors.

 

Jon Halpern

Mr. Halpern is being reappointed to the WCHCC Board of Directors for a five-year term.  He feels the Board is productive and is pleased with how hard everyone is working.  Mr. Halpern thinks the board has a tremendous amount of diversity with varied opinions.  He also stated that on nearly every issue the board has worked its way to a consensus opinion and that is was rare that the board will take action without a unanimous vote.  He sits on the Finance, Executive and Public Relations & Development Committees.  He recently resigned

from the Children’s Hospital Committee and the Children’s Hospital Foundation and was replaced by his wife.  Mr. Halpern is pleased to serve on the board and feels it is a great way to give back to the community.

 

The Committee and Mr. Halpern discussed various issues regarding the hospital such as the “Master Plan”, the Children’s Hospital and the new Trauma Center. 

 

Legislator Pinto made a motion to approve the act confirming the reappointments of Jo Brill, Jon Halpern and Gene Capello (pending Mr. Capello’s interview on September 21st) as members of the Westchester County Health Care Corporation Board of Directors and was seconded by Legislator Stewart-Cousins.  The motion was carried by a vote of 6-0.

 

MINUTES:

Chairman Latimer made a motion to approve the minutes of August 23, 1999 and was seconded by Legislator Pinto.  The motion was carried by a vote of 6-0.

 

Chair Swanson moved to hold over the minutes of September 8th pending further review.

 

HOUSING OPPORTUNITY COMMISSION (REAPPTS.)

George Raymond, John Heller, Eugene F. Conroy, Dwight Douglas, Jean Pollack and Mary E. Hotte

After a brief discussion, Chair Swanson moved to hold over the reappointments pending clarification from the Administration.

 

Legislator Stewart-Cousins made a motion to adjourn the meeting at 5:12 pm and was seconded by Legislator Spreckman.  The motion was carried by a vote of 6-0.
