The meeting was called to order at 3:01pm.
AIRPORT ADVISORY BOARD (AAB) George Skinner Mr. Skinner has moved from Dobbs Ferry to 24 Brook Lane, Pleasantville, NY 10570. He is the Vice President of The Bergassi Group, LLC in New Rochelle, which provides surety bonds to over 150 public contractors and private developers. Mr. Skinner expressed his interest in serving on the AAB while talking with the County Executive at various public functions. He believes his concerns are in sync with that of the County Executive. Mr. Skinner would like to see the Westchester County Airport environmentally safe, clean and efficient. He has attended two (2) meetings of the AAB and was voted to serve as chairperson.
Legislator Pinto made a motion to approve the resolution confirming the appointment of George D. Skinner as an at-large member of the Airport Advisory Board and was seconded by Legislator Latimer. The motion was carried by a vote of 4-0.
PUBLIC UTILITY SERVICE AGENCY (PUSA) Edward Krauss Mr. Krauss is a resident of Scarsdale. For the past 35 years he has had a career in marketing and advertising. Mr. Krauss has a degree in Economic/Statistics and a MBA in Marketing. He believes the COMMITTEE ON COUNTY OFFICERS & DEPARTMENTS MINUTES AUGUST 23, 1999 PAGE 2
Public Utility Service Agency is a worth while endeavor. He is looking forward to serving on this Board and understands its goals. Mr. Krauss will serve for a term to expire on December 31, 2000.
Legislator Latimer made a motion to approve the resolution confirming the appointment of Edward Krauss as a member of the Public Utility Service Agency and was seconded by Legislator Pinto. The motion was carried by a vote of 4-0.
MINUTES: Legislator Spreckman made a motion to approve the minutes of August 16, 1999 and was seconded by Legislator Pinto. The motion was carried by a vote of 4-0.
AFRICAN AMERICAN ADVISORY BOARD (AAAB) Sharon Chaplain - AAAB Ms. Chaplain is a resident of New Rochelle and owns Monarch Construction and Consulting Company, Inc. in Rye. She has attended one (1) meeting of the AAAB and serves on the Employment Committee of the AAAB, which has met twice. Being the owner of her own construction company, she is always in need of workers. Ms. Chaplain is pleased to be serving on the AAAB. She feels the AAAB is moving in the right direction in helping African-Americans in Westchester County.
Legislator Pinto made a motion to approve the resolution confirming the appointment of Sharon K. Chaplain as a member of the African American Advisory Board and was seconded by Legislator Latimer. The motion was carried by a vote of 4-0.
