The meeting was called to order at 4:10 p.m.
Legislator Pinto motioned to approve the Minutes of April 6, 1998 and was seconded by Legislator Spreckman. The motion was carried by a vote of 3-0. (Latimer and Stewart-Cousins were out for the vote).
Legislator Pinto motioned to go into executive session and was seconded by Legislator Spreckman. The motion was carried by a vote of 5-0.
Legislator Pinto motioned to come out of executive session and was seconded by Legislator Spreckman. The motion was carried by a vote of 5-0.
Chairman Latimer motioned to nominate, for the public member positions of the Rent Guidelines Board, Arthur Kamell with a term to expire on December 31, 1998, Barry Spratt, with a term to expire on December 31, 1999, and Norman Zelvin with a term to expire on December 31, 2001, and was seconded by Legislator Stewart-Cousins. The motion was carried by a vote of 5-0.
Legislator Pinto suggested that the Committee officially reappoint the other members that are currently serving on the Rent Guidelines Board as hold overs. Legislator Young, who was chairing the COMMITTEE ON COUNTY OFFICERS & DEPARTMENTS MINUTES - APRIL 13, 1998 PAGE 2
Committee in the absence of Chair Swanson, stated he would pass the suggestion onto her.
Chairman Latimer motioned to adjourn the meeting at 4:23 p.m. and was seconded by Legislator Stewart-Cousins. The motion was carried by a vote of 5-0.
