WOMENS ADVISORY BOARD (WAB): Susan Corcoran: Chairman Delfino asked Mrs. Corcoran if she had attended any meetings yet. She had not. Chairman Delfino went on to ask how she had become aware of the vacancy on the WAB. Mrs. Corcoran stated that she knows someone on the nominating committee who asked her if she would be interested in the position. Chairman Delfino asked how she could contribute as an attorney. Mrs. Corcoran stated that the firm she works for is a notionwide employment and labor law firm devoted exclusively to representing management. She is very involved with womens issues. With that background as well as other facets of her life such as being a mother of two daughters, and being very active in womens athletics she feels she can contribute a lot. Chairman Delfino asked how often the WAB meets. Once a month was the response. Chairman Delfino went on to stress the importance of attendance. It is something that the COD committee evaluates upon confirming reappointments to the various boards and commissions. Legislator Swanson interjected that she felt the WAB was doing a good job. She feels there is diversity on the board however sometimes it seems there are too many attorneys on the board. She is pleased that Mrs. Corcoran has other aspects to bring the WAB other that being an attorney.
