COMMITTEE ON MINORITY AFFAIRS

FEBRUARY 15, 1996

2:00 PM

PRESENT: Chairman: Clinton I. Young, Jr. Members: Lois Bronz,

Bob Darcy Secretary: Lynne Creighton

The meeting was called to order at 2:40 PM by Mrs. Bronz.

During a discussion on organization, the quorum was set at two.

It was also agreed that the Committee on Minority Affairs will meet on Tuesdays at 12 Noon.

Mrs. Bronz asked Mr. Darcy to review the report by the Task Force on Families on Child Abuse.

Mrs. Bronz said that a meeting had been arranged by Legislator Latimer for the African American caucus members to meet with general managers from the hotel industry, and would like to combine that meeting with Minority Affairs.

Prequalification for professional services will be one of the priorities of the committee, and Chairman Young, Mr. Darcy and Mrs. Bronz agreed that they should meet jointly with County Officers and Departments regarding this matter.

The committee would like to do another seminar on Doing Business With The County, which was very successful in 1995.

The meeting was adjourned at 2:55 PM on motion of Mrs. Bronz, seconded by Mr. Darcy.
