The Chair called the meeting to order at 1:25 p.m.

 

APPROVAL OF MINUTES;

February 22, 2000

Legislator Bronz made a motion to approve the minutes; seconded by Legislator Latimer.   All in favor 8-0.

 

February 14, 2000

Legislator Bronz made a motion to approve the minutes; seconded by Legislator Ryan.   All in favor 8-0.

 

February 7, 2000

Legislator Ryan made a motion to approve the minutes; seconded by Legislator Oros.    All in favor  8-0.

 

January 24, 2000

Legislator Ryan made a motion to approve the minutes; seconded by Legislator Oros.  All in favor 8-0.

All minutes were accepted and approved.

 

The Chair requested that the committee review the draft of the State Legislative Program 2000, prepared by Robert Spolzino.

The Chair stated that the draft before the committee is divided into 3 sections; new initiatives, existing initiatives and statewide priorities, subdivided into 2 categories – budgetary and policy issues.  There are 25 items in no particular order.

 

She informed the committee that Legislator Oros has requested consideration of the proposal to end the current statue of limitations for certain criminal acts as part of the Legislative Package.(copy on file) 

This item will be discussed further at the next meeting.

 

The Chair requested Robert give an update of the State Legislative Program 2000. 

 

After discussion of each item, it was agreed that Robert would re-write item 4 on Boating Safety; item 5 on Remove Yonkers Toll Plaza, re-write last paragraph –

          …..  the toll impedes Yonkers development and increases               traffic on Yonkers and Greenburgh local  roads, ………..

Item 22, Repeal Rockefeller Drug Laws, wording changed to “amend” or “reforming”.

 

Item 14, Volunteer Exemptions were placed under Policy Issues.

 

The Chair informed the committee that the changes to the 2000 State Legislative Package will be discussed at the next meeting.

 

Legislator Abinanti made a motion to adjourn.  Seconded by Legislator Maisano.  All in favor 6-0.

 

The meeting adjourned at 3:25 p.m.
