The meeting commenced at 1:45 PM. The item for discussion was Trash Hauling. Leg. Stewart-Cousins noted that this was an extensive piece of legislation that looks to reform the way business is done with trash haulers and there are number of groups that are involved in this legislation -- landscapers being one of those. Members of the landscaping community were present at the meeting. Leg. Abinanti discussed the progress and work that was done in the sub-committee meetings. Leg. Stewart-Cousins opened the floor to the landscapers to get their feelings on the legislation and address and, if any, any industry concerns. Members of the landscaping community spoke and there was a question and answers period. The members noted that they would like to amend the consumers affairs permit to include grass cutters. After this discussion the members of the Committee agreed on obtaining an opinion from the County Attorneys office requesting what the legal procedures are for the elimination of class "D" licensing and a legal opinion on how the Committee must proceed to change the structure of the consumer affairs permit.

Next the minutes of April 5, 1999 was discussed. Leg. Maisano moved to approve, seconded by Leg. Bronz. All in favor [6-0]. Leg. Abinanti moved to adjourn, seconded by Leg. Maisano. The meeting ended at 2:50 PM.
