The meeting commenced at 2:00 PM. The item for discussion was the proposed Human Rights Commission. First, Leg. Stewart-Cousins thanked those members who arrived early and noted that there have been continuous discussions on the proposed Human Rights Commission. Leg. Stewart-Cousins has outreached to members of the business community who wanted to give some insight into the law. At the last Committee meeting, Larry Dwyer, of the County Association, Robin Douglas, President of the African-American Chamber of Commerce were present and discussed their views. Also, Harold Vogth from the Chamber of Commerce has been in touch regarding this issue. Today Mr. Mercurio, who represents the Westchester County Board of Realtors is present. Leg. Stewart-Cousins opened the floor to Mr. Mercurio to voice his concerns. After his discussion, Leg. Stewart-Cousins noted that she would address these concerns with the County Attorney.

Next Leg. Stewart-Cousins asked Leg. Abinanti to give an update on the status of the Trash Hauling subcommittee. Leg. Abinanti noted that the sub-committee has written and published a report which he distributed to the Committee members for their review.

Next Leg. Mosiello took the floor and discussed his proposed Toy Gun legislation. Leg. Mosiello also distributed the legislation.

Next the Committee discussed the minutes of February, 22 and March 8, 1999. Leg. Abinanti moved the minutes of February 22, seconded by Leg. Mosiello. All in favor [4-0] (Legislators Oros, Mosiello and Ryan out for vote). Next Leg. Abinanti moved the minutes or March 8, 1999, seconded by Leg. Mosiello. Leg. Abinanti moved to adjourn, seconded by Leg. Mosiello. The meeting ended at 3:05 PM.
