The meeting commenced at 1:30 PM. Leg. Stewart-Cousins opened the floor for discussion and thanked the guests for attending. The first item for discussion was the "Garage Door Law". Leg. Kaplowitz discussed both personal experiences and constituent experiences of the dangers of garage door springs. Faye & Ron Gatto, demonstrated to the Committee, with an actual garage door, the intricacies and hidden dangers of garage door springs. Next the Committee discussed the local law and amended the proposed language. After further discussion, Leg. Maisano moved to sign-out, seconded by Leg. Mosiello. All in favor [6-0].

The next item for discussion was the Electrical Licensing law. Leg. Stewart-Cousins explained to the Committee that there is a pending amendment to the law. Linda Trentacosta, of the County Attorneys office, discussed the proposed amendment. Specifically, the amendment dealt with "reciprocity" and "providing an exception for government electricians who are performing electrical work, which do not require a permit." Discussion ensued on this matter and the Committee members voiced their concerns both for and against this amendment. The final topic for discussion was the penalty on delinquent school tax payments. Leg. Pinto noted that he is going to have an amendment to this law to allow a reduction of the proposed penalty. He noted that he is in contact with other municipalities and many are in favor of this amendment. Leg. Stewart-Cousins stated that the Committee will await Leg. Pintos amendment and upon receipt of same they will once again address this topic. Leg. Maisano moved to adjourn and the meeting ended at 3:00 PM.
