COMMITTEE ON LEGISLATION

MINUTES OF MARCH 5, 1996

MEMBERS: Abinanti, Delfino, Latimer, Noto.

The meeting was called to order at 3:47 P.M. and it was agreed that the Committee would regularly meet at 3:30 P.M.

The minutes of February 27 were approved as amended on motion by Legislator Latimer, second by Legislator Noto. [5-0]

Item 1A1 was received and filed on motion of Legislator Noto, second by Legislator Latimer. [5-0]

Item 1C3 was received and filed on motion of Legislator Latimer, second by Legislator Noto. [5-0]

Items 2A3 and 2A4 were received and filed on motions by Legislator Delfino, seconded by Legislator Latimer. [5-0]

Item 2A6 was received and filed on motion of Legislator Noto, second by Legislator Latimer.

Item 2C2 was received and filed on motion of Legislator Noto, second by Legislator Latimer.

Item 2C5 was received and filed on motion of Legislator Latimer, second by Chairman Abinanti.

Item 2C8 was briefly discussed, and it was agreed that the Committee would establish a "smoking folder" with the item being taken off the agenda and simply noted as smoking folder at the end of the agenda. This idea was approved on motion of Legislator Latimer, second by Legislator Delfino. [4-0, Leg. Noto out for vote.]

Item 2D2 was moved to the smoking folder on motion of Legislator Latimer, second by Legislator Delfino [4-0, Leg. Noto out for vote.]

Dan Eichorn’s memo on electricians was distributed and Chairman Abinanti asked that the issue be discussed between Legislator’s Wishnie and Latimer, with a recommendation on the best direction for the Committee.

The Committee will hold the following meetings:

Traffic Signs, Item 2C3: March 12th

Licensing Laws, Item 2C1: March 19th

Gas Stations, Item 2C4: March 26th

Bar Closings, Item 2C6: April 2nd
