MINUTES:

RECEIVE & FILE:

Legislator Wishnie made a motion to receive and file Item # A-1 (Letter from the WCCFT regarding problems on the implementation of the Distance Learning Program) and was seconded by Legislator Ryan.  The motion was carried by a vote of 3-0.

Chair Mosiello informed the Members that the AFL-CIO forwarded a request for a resolution on the Right to Organize in honor of “Organizing Week” (June 11th-17th).

Legislator Wishnie reviewed the resolution prior to this meeting and made some minor phrase changes.

Legislator Ryan suggested that the last paragraph read “…abide by their employee’s decision when the majority of the workers sign a union authorization card or otherwise decide that a union represent them, refraining from delaying tactics such as NLRB hearings and appeals.”  Legislator Ryan feels this will make it very clear that the BOL supports all of the steps necessary to organize from signing an authorization card to the final election.
