The meeting commenced at 2:00 PM.

The first items discussed were the minutes of April 9 and April 29. Leg. Bronz made a motion to accept the minutes of April 9, second by Leg. Stewart-Cousins. [2-0]. In addition, Leg. Bronz made a motion to accept the minutes of April 29 (with corrections), second by Leg. Stewart-Cousins. [2-0].

There was a follow-up discussion of the meeting at the Greenburgh Health Center the previous week. For the upcoming week, we intend to have someone from Administration to come talk to us about the Children’s Hospital. Thereafter, our tentative plan is to invite Dr. Rapport and have a combined meeting with Minority Affairs. The meeting to visit the correctional facility took place however only health care issues where discussed. The committee would like to again attend the facility to observe the food service. In addition, Leg. Stewart-Cousins would like to invite the entire Board rather than just the Health and Medical Center Committee.

The next issue discussed was item 1. Leg. Bronz moved to receive and file second by Leg. Stewart-Cousins.

The next issue for discussion was item 2 and item 8. Both items address the manner in which rape victims are received and are cared for in emergency rooms. A tentative meeting is planned to further address this issues at the end of May.

The next issue for discussion was item 3, a letter from Hon. George Latimer on health care issues. With respect to this item, we need to update and ask whether the monies involved have been properly directed. This issue will be discussed with Dr. Rappaport at the tentative meeting.
