The meeting was called to order by Legislator Noto at 12:18p.m.

Legislator Noto stated that he was informed of a problem with CSMS access that has been on-going since June 11, 1999.  He asked Commissioner Mahon to address the members.

Commissioner Mahon and Ms. LaFranco stated that the system was down for one month.  The issue was a problem that occurred in Northern New Jersey.  The State and the telephone company were responsive – the system was re-routed from Northern New Jersey.  It is now “up and running” and within a month the backlog will be completed.  (The problem was limited to Westchester)

Ms. LaFranco explained that there was a backlog of 300 cases – support orders.  400 to 500 cases are executed within a month.  During the breakdown other machines were used.  She stated that one week of work has been completed.

Commissioner Mahon informed the members that there has been an improvement every quarter and the collection rate is 66%  to 68% this quarter.  His office is looking at ways to improve collections.  Case loads are being redistributed.

Motion made by Legislator Bronz to approve the minutes.  Seconded by Amy Paulin.

Legislator Noto informed the members that Ms. Nayman was unable to make the August 3rd, 1999 meeting.  It was agreed that the members would meet with her on August 16, 1999 at 12:00 noon.

The meeting was adjourned at 12:35 p.m.
