TASK FORCE ON FAMILIES MINUTES, February 9, 1999
MEMBERS: Paul J. Noto (Co-Chair), Lois Bronz (Co-Chair), Amy Paulin (Member) GUEST(S): Eugene Day STAFF: Dolores Heredia, Sally Schecter
The meeting commenced at 12:15 PM. Leg. Noto opened the floor to Mr. Eugene Day who discussed his problems with Child Protective Services. After explaining his story in detail, Mrs. Paulin stated that she was concerned with how long it took to "validate" Mr. Days case. In addition, whether or not the facts of Mr. Days case are true, the Task Force was concerned as to why, if a Judge found against him, was he not sent to counseling and/or why visitation rights were still allowed. Leg. Noto suggested to Mr. Day that he send the Task Force something in writing to further clarify this matter. Also, the Task Force discussed inviting Child Protective Services to an upcoming meeting to further discuss this topic. Next the Task Force Discussed its schedule and agreed that its next meeting would be held on February 23, 1999 at 12:00 NOON. In addition they noted that on March 4th will be a Domestic Violence Council meeting, which they will try to attend. Next Leg. Bronz move to approve the minutes, seconded by Mrs. Paulin. All in favor [3-0]. Leg. Bronz moved to adjourn, seconded by Leg. Noto . All in favor [3-0]. The meeting ended at 12:55 PM.
