The meeting commenced at 12:15 PM. A motion to accept the

June 1, 1998 minutes by Leg. Lois Bronz and seconded by Leg. Noto.

Leg. Lois Bronz presented the committee with Westchester County Department of Social Services Commissioner’s Advisory Council Organizations Members List and suggested revisions. Amy Paulin presented a letter from Cora Greenberg, Executive Director of Westchester Children’s Association and Westchester County Local Pilot Proposal for The Robert Wood Johnson covering Kids Initiative; Sex Crimes Bill from Maud Easter; and a letter with a proposal to the Westchester Health Fund to establish the Westchester Children’s Health Initiative from Harold Adel, MD to Ross M. Weale, Chairperson to Westchester Health Fund.

Leg. Bronz asked for a proposed mission statement indicating what we want for welfare reform and submit a new list and the mission statement.

Amy Paulin indicated that she drafted 31 questions for the welfare reform piece.

Leg. Bronz stated that the Task Force circulate a memo to Winston Ross and Ernie Prince indicating that we are in a position to recommend members to the Commissioner’s Advisory Council. We would like the names of organizations and/or individuals.

Amy felt the writing of the RFP report can be created from the grant proposal from Cora Greenberg, Executive Director of the Westchester Children’s Association and the Health department. We can use the report as a model to write our draft report.

Another project that Leg. Noto has asked the committee to continue is the work Dr. Feinberg. Several tentative dates have been set up to meet with Dr. Feinberg and Carolyn Hedlund. The proposed meeting dates are Tuesday, June 30, 1998 at 11:00 AM or Monday, July 6,1998, noon. Both Dr. Feinberg and Dr. Hedlund decided on Monday, July 6,1998 committee meeting.

Leg. Noto indicated a new project with Norma Dreyfess on pediatric emergency issues. She will be asked to address the committee.

Lastly, the Sex Crime bill is waiting on a vote from the Legislation Committee. The bill may be amended.

The next Task Force meeting will be held on Tuesday, June 30, 1998, at 11:00 AM. The meeting ended at 12:40 PM.
