The meeting was called to order at 12:17pm by Mr. Noto.

The minutes of July 21, 1997 were moved by Mrs. Bronz, seconded by Mr. Noto, passed by a vote of 3-0.

Mr Noto moved to receive and file the following agenda items, seconded by Mrs. Bronz, passed by a vote of 3-0:

1V: HONORABLE GEORGE LATIMER: Forwarding from the

Jr. League a memorandum supporting A.2339/S.5018A,

broadening court access for victims of domestic violence.

A discussion followed on pursuing Support Collection. The commitee would like to bring in Commissioner Mary Glass regarding the following :

1. Implementation of Support Collection changes in

the State Law.

2. The Task Force On Families report on Child

Support Collection.

3. Welfare Reform.

The committee would also like to schedule a meeting with the following people:

- Carolyn Hedlund/Mark Dillon, Co-Chairs, Domestic

Violence Council.

- Judy Berger, Coordinator for Child Abuse, District

Attorney’s Office.

--Laura McDonald, who specializes in tracking

deadbeat parents.

There was a discussion on scheduling meetings for the remainder of the year and Mrs. Bronz moved to adjourn the meeting at 12:35pm, seconded by Mr. Noto, passed by a vote of 3-0.
