MINUTES

TASK FORCE ON FAMILIES

JULY 7, 1997

12 NOON

Present: Co-Chairs Lois Bronz, Paul Noto, Member, Amy Paulin

Secretary, Lynne Creighton

The meeting was called to order at 12:10pm by Mr. Noto.

The minutes of April 7 and May 19 were moved on motion of Mr. Noto, seconded by Mrs. Paulin, passed by a vote of 3-0.

The committee asked Lynne to formalize a letter to Carolyn Hedlund,

Co-Chair of the Domestic Violence Council, inviting all council members to meet with the Task Force and give an update.

The committee asked Lynne to send a copy of KIDS CAN’T WAIT

to Pat Anello and all the people who met with the Task Force regarding child support issues. The committee also wants reports

sent to Andy Spano and Ted Dunn.

Mr. Noto asked Lynne to send a letter to Chairman Oros in response to his letter of June 18, regarding the Legislative Breakfast at the Child Care Council of Westchester, where the creation of a Joint Commission or Task Force to tackle the problem of child care as a result of Welfare reform was discussed. Mr. Oros referred the matter to the Task Force on Families for discussion and recommendation. The letter will confirm a meeting that the Task Force will have with other organizations in September regarding this matter.
