COMMITTEE ON COMMUNITY AFFAIRS

JULY 29, 1996 1:30 P.M.

 

 

PRESENT: Chair Bronz, Leg. Stewart-Cousins

 

ALSO PRESENT: Mr. Swee and Mrs. Keating

 

ITEMS DISCUSSED:

 

Chair Bronz called the meeting to order. On motion of Legislator Stewart-Cousins, seconded by Leg. Bronz, the minutes of July 22 were approved 2-0.

 

On motion of Leg. Stewart-Cousins, seconded by Chair Bronz, the following items were received and filed:

 

County Executive: Forwarding bus service changes for the Fall of

1996;

 

Hon. Bronz: Letters in support of Jobstar;

Hon. Bronz: Forwarding the Mission Statement of Woodpac, the Woodfield Political Action Committee;

 

On motion Leg. Stewart-Cousins, seconded by Chair Bronz, the three items on our agenda regarding the Airport will be discussed on August 19 at 10:00 A.M. with Comm. Petrocelli and Mr. Russell.

 

On motion of Leg. Stewart-Cousins, seconded by Chair Bronz, the following items will be taken up with Comm. DeSantis in a memo from Chair Bronz:

 

1. Hon. Abinanti - forwarding a letter from Supv. Feiner re: County’s automated Golf Reservations;

 

2. Hon. Feiner - County’s Automated Golf System;

3. Hon. Oros - Forwarding a letter from Supv./Town of Cortlandt

asking that the County help locate safe areas that could be used

for roller skating, roller blading and in-line skating;

 

4. Cit. Comm. Requesting county complete the bike path on the

North County Trail.

 

On motion of Leg. Stewart-Cousins, seconded by Chair Bronz, the

Hon. Noto’s communication from the County Executive asking him to consider privatizing the County’s Child Support collections was sent to the Task Force on Families at Risk.

 

On motion of Leg. Stewart-Cousins, seconded by Chair Bronz, the meeting adjourned at 2:15 P.M.
