COMMITTEE ON COMMUNITY AFFAIRS AND HOUSING

APRIL 29, 1996 AT 1:00 P.M.

 

Present: Chair Bronz and Leg. Stewart-Cousins

 

Also Present: Mr. Swee and Mrs. Keating

 

Items Discussed:

 

Chair Bronz called the meeting to order at 1:25 P.M. She handed out the information that was requested from Deputy Commissioner Salley. Leg. Stewart-Cousins had some questions regarding which newspapers they advertise in. Both Chair Bronz and Leg. Stewart-Cousins were in agreement with the staffing involved.

 

Chair Bronz stated that the Committee should work as closely as possible with Deputy Comm. Salley.

 

On motion of Leg. Stewart-Cousins, seconded by Chair Bronz, the Committee signed out the CDBG program 2-0.

 

The Committee will hold up on Item 2A -regarding the Yorktown Country Residence.

 

Regarding Jobstar, Chair Bronz stated that the Chairman had asked her to send a resolution to the State and she is awaiting more information first.

 

Chair Bronz stated that she received a call from George Raymond who suggested that possibly the Committee hold a hearing in June rather than all in September. Mrs. Keating stated that there is one night meeting in June plus the fact that the Environment Committee plans to have three evening meeting in June regarding Patterns. Chair Bronz asked Mrs. Keating to get the dates that Environment is holding these hearings before they go any further. It was suggested that Greenburgh Town Hall be considered for the Community Affairs meeting as they have several success stories to showcase. Chair Bronz also stated that she has some volunteers who would be willing to help with the Housing Presentation. She also stated that it would be very ambitious to expect something from the State even as early as next Spring.

On motion of Leg. Stewart-Cousins, seconded by Chair Bronz, the minutes of April 22 at 1:00 p.m. and 8:00 p.m. were approved as read 2-0.

 

There being no further items for discussion, Chair Bronz declared the meeting closed at 2:00 P.M.
