PRESENT: Chair Bronz and Leg. Stewart-

Cousins.

ALSO PRESENT: Leg. Donovan, Mrs. Weinstein,

Mrs. Keating

ITEMS DISCUSSED:

Chair Bronz called the meeting to order at 1:05 P.M. On motion of Leg. Stewart-Cousins, seconded by Chair Bronz, the minutes of February 21, were approved.

The discussion centered on the Yorktown Country Inn. Chair Bronz stated that Leg. Abinanti had several concerns.

Leg. Donovan explained that the motel, which is in his district, has been operating for two years without incident. The Advisory Committee meets on a regular basis and the neighboring population feels that they have some control over what takes place there.

There was a question in the legislation regarding notification. The local community and the local legislator are to be informed. However, this is one area where a language change should be corrected to read that the Board of Legislators collectively.

Chair Bronz stated that Mr. Abinanti was invited to this meeting, but could not attend. We will try to reschedule for next Monday, at which time, we will sign out the legislation.

Chair Bronz also stated that she believes that there is a new agreement with the Kings Inn and she would like the committee to review the document.

There was also concern about the length of this agreement and why would it be closed at the end of 5 years if it is doing well. It is felt that all should share equally - not always the same communities.

There was also discussion on relocating other homeless in the area while this facility was in operation.

Chair Bronz stated that she would like to move forward with the IMA and will invite Mr. Abinanti again next week for discussion.

Chair Bronz thanked Leg. Donovan for his comments.

On motion of Leg. Stewart-Cousin, seconded by Chair Bronz, the meeting adjourned at 1:45 P.M.
