MINUTES COMMITTEE ON COMMUNITY AFFAIRS AND HOUSING JANUARY 29, 1996 AT 1:00 P.M.
PRESENT: Chair Lois Bronz, Leg. Stewart- Cousins
ALSO PRESENT: Mr. Swee and Mrs. Keating, Ms. Heinstat.
ITEMS DISCUSSED:
Chair Bronz called the meeting to order at 1:00 P.M. Chair Bronz made a motion, which was seconded by Leg. Stewart-Cousins, that two will be a quorum for this Committee.
Chair Bronz read the suggestions by the Chairman that the committee set a major goal for this session by February 15. It was also suggested that a major issue be a one item topic once a month and that the committee meet in the community at least twice during the year.
Chair Bronz asked Leg. Stewart-Cousins if there were any topics she would like on the agenda and she stated that she is interested in an overall study on Section 8 on the County level.
Chair Bronz suggested having in Mr. Salley to explain Section 8 on either February 5 or February 21 at 1:00 P.M.
Leg. Stewart-Cousins also wanted to do more regarding Economic Development. Chair Bronz stated that she would draft a letter to our State Legislators asking about economic development zones or alternatives for the cities.
On motion of Leg. Stewart-Cousins, seconded by Chair Bronz, Hon. Stephen Tenores referral regarding the Airport Advisory Board re: the dislocation of Light General Aviation at the County Airport was received and filed.

On motion of Mrs. Bronz, seconded by Leg. Stewart Cousins, the referral from the Town of Yorktown regarding the Yeshivah Kehilat Yakov Site Plan was also referred to the Environment and they will let that committee take the lead.
On motion of Leg. Stewart-Cousins, seconded by Chair Bronz, the meeting adjourned at 1:20 P.M. |
