SPECIAL MEETING

COUNTY BOARD OF LEGISLATORS

JANUARY 13, 2003 (1:30 P.M.)

The County Board of Legislators met in Special Session.

The Honorable Lois Bronz in the Chair.

The Chair opened the meeting with the salute to our flag and an invocation.

The roll call resulted as follows:

Legislators:  Young, Oros, Abinanti, Alvarado, Kaplowitz, LaMotte, Latimer, Maisano, Mosiello, Pinto, Rogowsky, Ryan, Spreckman, Stewart-Cousins, Swanson, Wishnie, Chair – 17.

Absent:  None.

SPECIAL ORDER:  CHAIR OF THE BOARD:  County Sales Tax :  RES 6-2003:  Resolution requesting that the New York State Legislature introduce legislation as requested by Westchester County allowing the County to impose an additional 1% in sales tax.

On motion of Mr. Alvarado, seconded by Mr. Wishnie the following resolution was declared adopted by the following vote:

AYE:  Legislators:  Young, Alvarado, Kaplowitz, Latimer, Rogowsky, Ryan, Spreckman, Stewart-Cousins, Wishnie, Chair – 10.

NAY:  Legislators:  Maisano, Abinanti, LaMotte, Mosiello, Oros, Pinto, Swanson – 7.

On MOTION of Legislator Young,

the Board adjourned.
