| A-HOME creates and maintains stable,
affordable, innovative housing opportunities for Westchester's more vulnerable citizens.
The professional staff and volunteers facilitate residents' independence in a caring,
family-like environment that supports the dignity and privacy of the individual. We now
have 7 houses in Northern Westchester, 3 for seniors and 3 for adults recovering from
mental illnesses. The newest property will be for a mixed population-seniors, and single
parents with children. A-HOME is a coalition of two dozen local religious and services organizations whose members make up a solid volunteer base that greatly supplements the work of the organization. Generally residents pay only 30% of their monthly income in rent; rental subsidies come from federal and state sources. Coalition members, general members, community and private funds, and the United Way support A-HOME. |
